Toners should not be used as they strip the skin of all natural oils therefore leaving them over dry and prone to further problems. Once the skin has been effectively cleansed moisturiser should be applied, again it should suitable for your skin type. Applying a heavy, deep moisturiser if your skin is oily will only clog your pores up and cause problems. If you have very dry skin, you should use a heavier product. Sun protection should always been worn, either integrally as part of a moisturiser or separately after moisturiser has been applied. This is especially important in the winter months when most people are unaware the UVA/UVB rays can still age and damage the skin.

The secret to looking after your skin is trial and error. Don't settle for the same product you have been using since you were young and don't be afraid to try new things. Spend time looking at what is available and reading and comparing the ingredients and information. Ask people you know who have admirable skin which products they use, then give them a try. When you find the right one for you, your skin will feel calm, clean, soft and supple and you will have a natural, healthy glow every time you use it. Only use scrubs, masks and home peeling kits weekly or fortnightly, as skin is fragile and doesn't respond well to over treatment.
